Bethlehem Lutheran Church of Penfield
(From Hebrew, Beth + Lehem, House of Bread)

Welcome to Bethlehem Lutheran Church! Whatever the path is that brought you to this website, we are glad you found us.

Our name, “Bethlehem,” means “house of bread,” and this defines our mission in this world: “Feeding God’s community in Jesus’ name with bread for life in body and spirit through prayer, worship, service, and fellowship.” There are so many ways that the world needs to be fed – in mind, body and spirit. We strive to foster a space where God can feed us in all these ways. It begins in worship, where we share and rejoice in hearing God’s saving Word and celebrate the Sacraments. It continues in our generous coffee hour following worship, as we talk and laugh together and enjoy our lives together. And it continues throughout the week, as we bring that faith into the world. Whether we are bringing food and clothing to the poor in our local and global community, or ringing the bell for Salvation Army, or picking up trash on Plank Road, or gathering for prayer on Wednesday nights as we work through the joys and challenges of life and faith, the love and comfort of Christ is present. Each time we gather, whether at Sunday worship or throughout the week, we share that presence with friends and strangers alike. Thanks be to God!

If you have any questions, or are interested in becoming more involved with the ministries that are offered here, please don’t hesitate to contact us. We would love to do what we can to help you feel at home here. Meanwhile, enjoy your journey through our website!
